Successful Business Consultant Provides Daily Lessons on Living Life

Bernard Otis

For the past 65 years, Bernard Otis has made quite a name for himself in the business world. As an expert in marketing, sales and customer service, he is known for providing consulting and training services to esteemed gurus and young professionals alike. Throughout his lengthy and celebrated career, one motivation has shined above the rest: his desire to share his knowledge and experience with those who follow him in life.

Among his many methods of helping people is writing and speaking on his numerous areas of expertise. His first book, “Revenue Generation Through the Sale of Kumquats and Other Things,” makes the convincing argument that selling can and should be fun. It explores his own career, as well as the possibilities within the industry, in an attempt to guide and inspire future generations.

Old Age Cover_CROPPEDRecently, Bernard has shifted his focus from business ventures to everyday life. His recent book, “How To Prepare for Old Age: Without Taking the Fun Out of Life,” examines the process of growing old and how it doesn’t necessarily have to involve adjusting to a boring, intellectually stagnant life.

The back of the jacket best describes both the book’s nature and its aim:

In this touching, often humorous and very personal account, Bernie shares his 86 years of life, love, loss and laughter as an inspirational guide to what it means to age without growing old. His advice on love after 60, how to talk with family members about illness, what you should be prepared for when confronting tragedy and loss, what it means to be a caregiver to a loved one and many other of life’s challenges are a must for family members young and old. Bernie’s book is a treasure trove of personal and professional life experiences that will help you prepare for old age and take control of the nature of aging. Be prepared to laugh out loud and quietly shed a tear as Bernie takes you through the voyage of life.

Published in May 2015, “How To Prepare for Old Age: Without Taking the Fun Out of Life” is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Although he has only released two books thus far, Bernard continues to provide advice and guidance to receptive individuals through regular blog posts on his website, Senior Moments with Bernard Otis. Bernard often begins his blog posts with an anecdote or light-hearted story that directly relates to the topic he is about to discuss, which keeps the posts engaging and thought-provoking, in addition to being helpful.

Prior to joining Centennial, Ms. Meitner met a gentleman who introduced her to a position inside a national mortgage company, where she worked her way up from the bottom. She progressed in such positions as vice president, and eventually senior vice president, all while working as a loan originator. She excels in her field due to a unique blend of her prior industry experiences and educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Art in speech communications from George Mason University. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Mortgage Bankers Association. Throughout the course of her notable career, she has won a variety of awards, including the Best of Horsham award in 2009 and 2013. Ms. Meitner has been featured in “Philadelphia Magazine” as a Five-Star Professional for four consecutive years.  Inc. 5000 ranked Susan #3 in their Top Women in Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies in 2014. In the same publication, her company was ranked #64 out of 500. She is currently licensed in eight states: PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, NC, FL and CA. Looking toward the future, Ms. Meitner would like to grow along with Centennial Lending Group.

Ms. Meitner’s book, “Crazy Lucky Girl: Do YOU Have the Keys to Success?” was released on September 19, 2014 through the website http://www.crazyluckygirl.com and on the Amazon, Kindle, Barnes and Noble, and the iTunes stores. The book was written as a “how-to guide for entrepreneurs,” and features Ms. Meitner’s years of wisdom condensed into one easy-to-read source. According to one of the book’s reviews, “Severe economic shock helps create a dramatic backdrop for this book. The author’s 22-year career is harshly disrupted by the housing and financial meltdown of 2008-09. Indeed, the depths of that economic turmoil coincide with the founding of Meitner’s company, a business based on lessons learned and risky, corner-cutting practices rejected. In building the new firm, Meitner gathered a core sales team and then lost most of it on the eve of start-up. In selecting her top-level manager, she found the nerve to revisit a burned bridge, offer apologies and secure a second-in-command whose traits and experience fit Centennial’s needs perfectly.”

Other reviews include:

“Crazy Lucky Girl is a go-to book for salespeople and managers alike. Sue Meitner shares the story of her journey, the lessons learned, and all her tricks to becoming a successful businessperson and topnotch salesperson. You’ll walk away knowing how to get what you want out of your business and your personal life!”

-Barbara Corcoran, SHARK on ABC hit show SHARK TANK

“Sue Meitner has created the number one book for all loan officers and managers in the mortgage world. Full of humor, warmth, and sage advice on a broad range of subjects from salesmanship to integrity. This is an important work to be read and reread until the pages are dog-eared and fading!  If everyone adhered to Susan Meitner’s principals we would not have created a mortgage crisis!”

-John M. Robbins CMB, Chairman, Mortgage Bankers Association 2007

“Having built several mortgage companies into national powerhouses, I know what it takes. After reading Crazy Lucky Girl, it’s clear Susan Meitner knows the keys as well. If you are looking for success in the mortgage business, look no further -  Read This Book!”

Author and Worldwide Branding Member Engr. Monique S. Sidaross is a female structural engineer striving to make a difference in American society, and to cause social change for women engineers and the civil rights of all engineers

Engr. Monique S. Sidaross, MSCE is the Director, General Educator and Engineer at Moni Sid & Associates, and the renowned author of “POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE?: Check this journey; How heritage, multi-cultures, doctoral-research influenced Civil Engineering Between Greece/Egypt/America,”  a book that gives a revealing look into the conditions of the American infrastructure. Engr. Sidaross has conducted research on American culture, academic framework and system, which she feels is in dire need of reformation for the best interest of the American public.  She has also concluded that these renovations would be prudent for the constructive development of nations, and the new generation. In her book, Engr. Sidaross points out that in her research, many Americans that have lived and worked overseas have expressed satisfaction over living in America.

Engr. Sidaross has faced and overcome a number of obstacles and personal hurdles, which she has also used as motivational forces to demonstrate as some of the many hindrances thrust forth upon Americans in this day and age in her book, as well. She tackles the topic of bribery, covering her own experience with The Department of Education, which, she says, attempted to coerce her to pay a kickback of $10,000, on top of an additional, fraudulent amount of $9,700 to deny the approval of her student loan. In her own experiences, she was able to secure the help of the ABI, IBC, and UCC, as well as the office of California governor Jerry Brown, however, she feels that others may not be so fortunate.

“POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE?: Check this journey; How heritage, multi-cultures, doctoral-research influenced Civil Engineering Between Greece/Egypt/America” – Engr. Monique Sidaross

Engr. Sidaross has said: “I was lucky to obtain my five years of engineering education and license from Egypt, which along with Greece, possesses and encompasses the oldest history in engineering and mathematics.” Over the years, she has travelled throughout Europe and then to America, where she became a member of the ABI, IBC and UCC, and the international university Walden University, where programs also included international travels to explore cultures in relation to her doctoral research interest. Her doctoral study is in engineering management for “positive social change.” In conducting her research, she has deduced that improving engineering, construction, businesses, and women engineers’ status requires social change first in the legal system and laws.
